Overview

This qualification is suitable for those looking to start their career as an Enrolled Nurse. The qualification reflects the role of an Enrolled Nurse working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and covers the application of skills and knowledge required to provide nursing care for people across the health sector. A lifespan approach underpins this qualification, with relevant competencies that relate to the different stages of life identified within the units.

This qualification may contribute to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s (NMBA) registration requirements to practice as an enrolled nurse.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for enrolment you are required to

  • Be 18 years of age;
  • Provide Photo ID with proof of age;
  • Year 12 Western Australia certificate of Education (WACE) or equivalent completion certificate from another Australian State or Territory, passing in maths and science, AND achievement of Exit level 3 in an ACER literacy, language and numeracy test.
  • If WACE is not obtained, the minimum requirement is attendance and satisfactory completion of at least 6 years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed in English, including at least two (2) years between Years 7 and 12, as specified in the NMBA language skills registration standard.

Marr Mooditj Training will provide you with further information on the LLN tests during the enrolment process, the support available during the course, and advice and assistance on applying for Registration closer to graduation.

Our full qualification is delivered over approximately 18 months, three stages consisting of 10 3-week blocks, plus 5 clinical placements.

This qualification is delivered in blocks to allow access for regional and remote students. These blocks are delivered on site at Marr Mooditj Training, Monday to Friday, 9am–4pm.

As part of this qualification students will attend clinical placements of 480 hours in total at different facilities that will include:

  • 2 weeks in an aged care setting (80 hours)
  • 2 weeks in a paediatric care setting (80 hours)
  • 3 weeks placement Surg/Med Placement (120 hours)
  • 3 weeks placement Surg/Med Placement (120 hours)
  • 2 weeks in mental healthfacility (80 hours)
Career Opportunities

On successful completion of the course:

  • You will receive the nationally endorsed HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing, which will allow for registration as an enrolled nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Graduate programs as an enrolled nurse at various hospitals.
  • Continuing studying into Bachelor of Nursing at a variety of universities.

No fees are paid in advance to Marr Mooditj Training. Our payment options include:

  • Pay by cash or direct deposit as you progress with your studies.
  • Centrepay deduction using Centrelink direct debit (this is a payment option to be deducted from your Centrelink payment with your consent)

Marr Mooditj Training charges fees in accordance with the fees set by the WA Department of Training and Workforce Development.

The student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at the time of enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as resource fees and other fees. This may mean that you will be charged the full qualification fee, but if the course you are doing is split over more than one year the final full fee may change. Any changes will only be applied to units of the qualification delivered in the second and subsequent years.

If you are not a subsidised student, you may be required to pay full fees.
