CHC51015Diploma of Counselling

Overview

This qualification reflects the role of counsellors who work with clients on personal and psychological issues using established counselling modalities.

They use communication, micro counselling and interviewing skills and draw on varied counselling therapies to assist clients.

At this level, the counsellor will work in defined and supported counselling roles in established agencies, rather than in independent practice.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for enrolment you are required to

  1. Be 18 years of age and provide a photo ID with proof of age;
  2. Have completed CHC43315 Certificate in Mental Health; or
  3. An equivalent completed Certificate IV qualification; or
  4. Evidence of currently working in the industry.
  5. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Decent
  6. Be residing in Western Australia

This course is subsided by the Department of Training and Workforce Development for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander equity groups and jobseekers students.

 

Screening Requirements

  • Working with Children Check card
  • Current Police Clearance to meet the work placement requirements.

These screening documents must be completed within the first two weeks of commencing the course. Please note that you will be required to meet the fees for these checks and that Marr Mooditj Training authorised staff will be required to sign the documents so that you may apply for a lower rate as a student

The full qualification will be delivered over 12 months and consists of 6 blocks, at Marr Mooditj Training, Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm.

Pricing

This course is a targeted fee relief course: 2024

               Concession rate is capped at: $ 400.00 per year

               Non-Concession is capped at: $1,200.00 per year

To be eligible for concession rates you must hold a current Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card.

No fees are paid in advance to Marr Mooditj Training. Our payment options include:

  • Pay by cash or direct deposit as you progress with your studies
  • Centrepay deduction using Centrelink direct debit (this is a payment option to be deducted from your Centrelink payment with your consent)

The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as resource fees and other fees.
